The Parting Glass

Verse 1

Mid:                Oh all the money that e'er I spent,

High & Mid:   I spent it in good company,

and all the harm that e'er I've done,

alas it was to none but me.

All:                  And all I've done for want of wit,

                       to mem'ry now I can't recall.

So fill to me the parting glass,

good night, and joy be with you all.

Verse 2

Mid:                Oh, all the comrades that e'er I've had           High & Low:  Ah

are sorry for my going away.

High & Mid:   And all the sweethearts that e'er I've had      Low: Ah

would wish me one more day to stay.

All:                   But since it falls unto my lot that

I should rise and you should not,

I'll gently rise and I'll softly call,

good night, and joy be with you all.

Good night, and joy be with you all.
